Elderberry syrup recipe
Making elderberry syrup is easy.
In a sauce pan soak 1/2 cup dried elderberries in 2.5 cups water. Bring to a boil. At this point you can add optional ingredients - rose hips (2 tablespoons), cinnamon sticks or chopped ginger. Simmer for 30 min, then allow to cool on stovetop. when still warm but no longer boiling add 1/2 cup of honey and stir until mixed well.
Strain into jar, will store in fridge for 2 months.
Drink 1 teaspoon a day.
